Davido is officially a graduate from Babcock University‘s music department. And he is beaming with joy. The 22-year-old “Omo Baba Olowo” signed on to pursue a degree, all while touring various cities across Nigeria, as well as presenting us with hit after hit, and recording his album. After the news of his graduation went viral, he took to social media to correct reports that claim he achieved a first class in his degree.
Olusegun Ojuola, the Head of Music Department,Babcock University has described Davido as a billiant and obedient student. Until his graduation yesterday, Davido was a lone student in his department and was taught by Mr Ojuola.
Speaking at the convocation of the music star on Sunday, June 7, 2015, Ojuola said: ‘Well, the first thing I try to do is to dichotomise the artiste from the student. The Davido I know is an artiste, but the student I admitted into the department is Adedeji David Adeleke and the relationship has been like that all through.’ ‘But I can tell you this much, that David is a very very brilliant and very obedient student. When I say Obedient, you can see that in terms of humility. Anytime David is in school, he knows he’s in school as a student.’
His sister Sharon Adeleke expecting another child, as well as his friends B-Red, Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks, Papa Omisore and Adewale Adeleke were present at the ceremony to support him.
