Music legend 2Baba has unleashed the video for “Hate What You Do To Me“, a fan favourite off his 6th album – The Ascension. Fans will be excited to see the music video which was shot during 2Baba’s recent trip to Milan, Italy, the fashion capital of the world, and also the home of liquor brand Campari. The video was directed by UK-based video director Luke Biggins who had worked with 2Baba on other videos including the award winning “Let Somebody Love You”. “Hate What You Do To Me” is the 8th track on The Ascension album. The track is a romantic cult classic that tells the story of a love – hate relationship. The track was produced by Nigerian international music producer Femdouble.

Star Music The Trek 2016 kicked off with an incredible concert in Makurdi and is moving to Abuja this weekend. The annual music concert which has a line-up of spectacular artistes released a hit track titled ‘My City Rocks’. The song features 2Baba, Falz, Humblesmith, Sound Sultan, Cynthia Morgan, Mr Raw, Ice Prince, DJ Neptune, DJ Big N and Del B. Former member of the defunct Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, was recently in the eye of the storm when he accused his former label-mate, 2face Idibia and Wizkid of copyright thefts. Blackface had claimed that 2face denied him credit in a song they wrote together while they were still in the same group. Meanwhile, it should be recalled that Blackface had also cried foul during the height of 2face’s ‘African Queen’ reign. Blackface stated that he was the one who wrote the song, and therefore deserves to get the credit and royalties from it.

The matter was later resolved and Blackface was said to have settled. However, Blackface has refused to speak further about these weighty allegations. Showtime ran into him recently, and we sought to know the current situation, to which he said, “I don’t want to talk about those allegations anymore though they are not yet settled. Copyright will take care of itself at the right time. I’m not worried about issues right now.” Blackface also mentioned that he recently released a new album, ‘The Defender’ which he encouraged fans to get ‘because it’s a good album.’

Blackface has accused 2face Idibia of stealing popular single ‘Let somebody love you’ from him. The former members of the defunct group, Plantashun Boiz, have had issues in the past over song ownership, with Blackface earlier claiming one of 2face Idibia’s hit songs ‘African Queen’. Singer 2face Idibia met with the U-23 players in Gambia earlier today. The footballers are currently in the country for a 10-day training program ahead of the 2nd Africa U-23 Cup of Nations taking place in Senegal.

A biography about Nigerian music star 2Face Idibia has been launched at a public presentation in Lagos today, October 20. ‘A Very Good Bad Guy: The Story of ‘2Face’ Idibia' reveals personal details about the singer. Nigerian journalist and PR executive Ayeni Adekunle edited the publication. “The book should be called ‘The Dynamics and Challenges of Being A Super Star,’” said Ali Baba who reviewed the book. “It’s a book every artist who is looking at becoming a star must have”, the comedian said at the event.


'A Very Good Bad Guy' was initially set to hit the shelves on September 18. The book launch at the Terra Kulture in Lagos was hosted by comedian Tee A. Annie Idibia was by her husband’s side at the event with their daughter Olivia. The event was also attended by DJ Jimmy Jatt, Tiwa Savage, Tee Billz, Tunde and Wunmi Obe, Segun Arinze, Richard Mofe Damijo, Teju Babyface, IllBliss and Adesua Etomi.

As the Felabration events rocked on in Nigeria, London joined the fray with a night of music, drums, sultry saxophone and music from the stars. Held at the British Library, the sold-out Felabration event played to capacity crowd as stars like Shingai from The Noisettes and Dele Sosimi kept the crowd enthralled with classic hits ‘Zombie’ and ‘Lady’. Congolese super star, Fally Ipupa enlists Nigerian music heavy weights 2face Idibia and Naeto C on the remix to his 2013 critical and commercial hit ‘Sweet Life’ from the double album Power. Sweet Life mixes melodic Congolese Rumba with Hip Hop. 2face and Naeto C’s verses elevate the song’s theme with instantly quotable lines. This is the second collaboration between 2face and Fally Ipupa, they both collaborated on Diaspora Woman a joint off 2014’s The Ascension.

The song has been described as ever green by many. This is the second remix treatment the song has received, the first featured fellow Congolese rapper Bigg masta G.
