Music legend 2Baba has unleashed the video for “Hate What You Do To Me“, a fan favourite off his 6th album – The Ascension. Fans will be excited to see the music video which was shot during 2Baba’s recent trip to Milan, Italy, the fashion capital of the world, and also the home of liquor brand Campari. The video was directed by UK-based video director Luke Biggins who had worked with 2Baba on other videos including the award winning “Let Somebody Love You”. “Hate What You Do To Me” is the 8th track on The Ascension album. The track is a romantic cult classic that tells the story of a love – hate relationship. The track was produced by Nigerian international music producer Femdouble.

Star Music The Trek 2016 kicked off with an incredible concert in Makurdi and is moving to Abuja this weekend. The annual music concert which has a line-up of spectacular artistes released a hit track titled ‘My City Rocks’. The song features 2Baba, Falz, Humblesmith, Sound Sultan, Cynthia Morgan, Mr Raw, Ice Prince, DJ Neptune, DJ Big N and Del B. The artistes jumped on the beat produced by Del B, and delivered lyrical expressions that represent various cities in Nigeria. ‘My City Rocks’ is theme song for Star Music The Trek 2016 and fans of the concert are already loving this hit track.

Former member of the defunct Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, was recently in the eye of the storm when he accused his former label-mate, 2face Idibia and Wizkid of copyright thefts. Blackface had claimed that 2face denied him credit in a song they wrote together while they were still in the same group. Meanwhile, it should be recalled that Blackface had also cried foul during the height of 2face’s ‘African Queen’ reign. Blackface stated that he was the one who wrote the song, and therefore deserves to get the credit and royalties from it.

The matter was later resolved and Blackface was said to have settled. However, Blackface has refused to speak further about these weighty allegations. Showtime ran into him recently, and we sought to know the current situation, to which he said, “I don’t want to talk about those allegations anymore though they are not yet settled. Copyright will take care of itself at the right time. I’m not worried about issues right now.” Blackface also mentioned that he recently released a new album, ‘The Defender’ which he encouraged fans to get ‘because it’s a good album.’
