Faze, a member of the defunct boy band, Plantashun Boiz, has revealed that he owes much of his career success to Blackface. The 'Originality' crooner revealed this in an interview published on Saturday, September 17, 2016, by Punch News.
According to the singer, Blackface played an inspiring figure in his early career, always encouraging him to take up challenges. He said, “Blackface was the first person to believe in me and he was also the first person to believe in my talent." "He gave me the required push to succeed as an artiste and made me realise that I had a talent which could be expanded." "When I first started out, I used to go for talent hunt competitions and Blackface always urged me that I would win, surprisingly, I always won in those competitions." "He is part of my success story because he made me believe that I could break through in the industry.”


To help strengthen the power of their musical group, Blackface introduced the now grateful Faze to Plantashun Boiz. He felt an addition like the soulful singer will add diversity to the setup. “Blackface was the one that urged me to join the Plantashun Boys because the combination of himself and Tuface was not strong enough." "He felt that if a third party with their kind of flavour came into play, it would make the band better." "He was the one that made the decision and he was right. Shortly after I joined Plantashun Boys, Blackface advised me to move in with them at FESTAC." "He said that if I was going to be a part of them, I would have to stay with them so that we could all understand ourselves better and connect easily." "Right now, I am very close to Tuface and Blackface and we are like family." "If either of them has an event or wants a cameo appearance from me, I would always be there. I am going to do a song with Blackface very soon."

Hours after Blackface slammed ace musician Tuface Idibia of stealing his songs, one half of famed group Psquare, Paul Okoye, has blasted Blackface for the accusation. Paul took to his twitter to diss Blackface, saying he was just looking for cheap publicity (am guessing same thing is on everyone’s mind)Paul did this without mentioning Blackface’s name in the post.

Not one to take blacklash, Blackface, went back on twitter to reply Paul. Read his tweet below:

Blackface has accused 2face Idibia of stealing popular single ‘Let somebody love you’ from him. The former members of the defunct group, Plantashun Boiz, have had issues in the past over song ownership, with Blackface earlier claiming one of 2face Idibia’s hit songs ‘African Queen’. The ‘Erima’ singer has come out again with fresh claims, alleging that 2face’s 2014 single ‘Let somebody love you’, is his. The song is featured on 2face’s “Ascension” album, and features international recording act, Bridget Kelly.Blackface further accused 2face Idibia of sabotaging his career, slander, and back-biting in a series of tweets, see tweets below;

Few days ago former ‘Plantashun boiz’ member Blackface released a song where he called out Wizkid for allegedly stealing some of his song material. In a new interview with Punch, Blackface claimed that the highly successful Ojuelegba by the starboy was stolen from him as it sounds like a song off his Dancehall Business album released in 2010. “If you check properly, you would realise that Wizkid’s hit, Ojuelegba, sounds exactly the same as the track 13 on my dancehall album released as far back as 2010. You need to listen to that album to know what I am talking about. The song is so similar that I think it shouldn’t be that way.” He told the newspaper. He then added: 

“I never really wanted to talk about it all this while but after people started checking out my new song, Killa, many felt Blackface sounded like Wizkid, which I didn’t like. When quizzed if he had confronted Wizkid on the issue he said he made attempts at reaching him which proved futile as the singer purportedly then went on to continue the trend. The dancehall act said: “There was a time Wizkid followed me on twitter and I told him that I don’t want him taking my songs and that if he wants to do any of my rhythm, he should let me know. I told him that because I was just being a big brother to him. I told him that our songs can’t be sounding so similar and that if he wants anything, he should let me know. But after some time, he ‘unfollowed’ me and it was shortly after then that the Ojuelegba song was released. I don’t have any problem with Wizkid or any other person, all I am saying is that they shouldn’t be tampering with my songs because those are my properties.”
