Super Producer Cobhams Asuquo Teams Up With Ugovinna To Deliver This Comic Single Titled The Other Room.

The 3 series of the live music experience, “Songs & Stories with Cobhams” took place this past weekend on the evening of Jan 16, 2016. Super talented singer, songwriter, and musician; Cobhams Asuquo, again thrilled concert guests to an amazing night of live music at the serene Clear Essence California Spa & Wellness Resort in Ikoyi. The first featured guest act of the night was the new soul heartthrob, Adekunle Gold. Adekunle Gold performed his perennial hit, “Sade”, to a Cobhams Asuquo directed live band. Next Cobhams introduced notable comedienne, Chioma “Chigul” Omeruah, to the microphone. After making the audience laugh with her musing, she deftly broke into a big band, “jazzified” version of her very popular composition “Don’t Be A Weiist”.

Simi, was next up to the microphone, but not before Cobhams told the audience how the first time he met, produced, and recorded Simi she was 15 years old. Simi performed a medley of “Tiff” and “Jamb Question”. Cobhams Asuquo Music Production (CAMP) artiste and super star rocker, Bez,was next up on the roster of guest performers. Bez’s performance lived up to every bit of the consummate afrosoul rock star that we have come know and love. The surprise of the night was when Cobhams introduced his friend and collaborator, Asa, as the headline performance of the night. After Cobhams’ and Asa’s expressions of mutual admiration and respect for each other, Asa proceeded to take the audience literally to “church”. She opened her set with the soon to be classic “Eyo”, off of her third studio album. Then came sweet arrangements of audience favorites “Fire On The Mountain” and “Jailer”. Cobhams then introduced his phenomenal and gifted bandmates and closed the show with his hit single “Ordinary People”.

The launch of Seyi Shay’s debut album “Seyi or Shay” was quite a fun event, held on Friday November 13th at the Grand Ballroom of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. The event was star-studded as several of Nigeria’s top celebrities stepped out to celebrate with Seyi Shay. Banky W, Asa, Sound Sultan, Waje, Omawumi, Iyanya, Ubi Franklin, Fade Ogunro, Cynthia Morgan, Chidinma, Cobhams Asuquo, Sika Osei, Illrhymz, Jesse Jagz, Bolanle Olukanni, Toke Makinwa, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Latasha Ngwube, Emmanuel Ikubese, Omalicha, Yvonne ‘Vixen’ Ekwere, Marcy Dolapo Oni, Lilian Afegbai, Ehiz, Eva, Boj, Niyola, Tunde Demuren and many more were spotted at the event.

 Seyi Shay wowed the audience with track after track off her new album while dressed in a gorgeous white skirt suit by the Okunoren Twins and then later changed into a white jumpsuit. The night was closed out by Banky W and Iyanya who joined Seyi Shay on stage for a performance of the remix of her hit song “Right Now”.

Bez has released a new single titled ‘You suppose know’. The alternative singer stuns with a long-awaited single off of his forthcoming sophomore album. ‘You suppose know’ is an alternative rock song, with engaging guitars, scintillating horns and drumming. The track was produced by prolific music man, Cobhams Asuquo, who has been responsible for production of Bez’s most notable songs.

Award winning music producer, composer and singer Cobhams Asuquo has just been unveiled as the latest ambassador of telecommunication company MTN. The gifted musician shared a picture of him signing the endorsement deal alongside Paul Okoye, the CEO of Upfront Bookings today, June 2, 2015. In an interview with Punch, ace music producer, songwriter and singer Cobhams Asuquo said one of his life's wish is to see what his wife, Ojuola, looks like. "Yes, I would love to regain my sight even if it is for one day just to see my wife’s face. That is one of the things that would make her happy."

Cobhams said Asked if she wished Cobhams had his sight just to see what she looked like, Ojuola, who married Cobhams in 2010, said it doesn't matter to her... "No, I don’t and I have never wanted him to have his sight for the reason you mentioned. If I ever want him to have his sight, it is because I wish he can see more of everyday things. For instance, if I am narrating an incident to him or if there is something really nice I want to show him, at times like that I wish he could see. Because he is my gist partner, I often wish he can see the expression on my face when we are talking".
