Faze, a member of the defunct boy band, Plantashun Boiz, has revealed that he owes much of his career success to Blackface. The 'Originality' crooner revealed this in an interview published on Saturday, September 17, 2016, by Punch News.
According to the singer, Blackface played an inspiring figure in his early career, always encouraging him to take up challenges. He said, “Blackface was the first person to believe in me and he was also the first person to believe in my talent." "He gave me the required push to succeed as an artiste and made me realise that I had a talent which could be expanded." "When I first started out, I used to go for talent hunt competitions and Blackface always urged me that I would win, surprisingly, I always won in those competitions." "He is part of my success story because he made me believe that I could break through in the industry.”

To help strengthen the power of their musical group, Blackface introduced the now grateful Faze to Plantashun Boiz. He felt an addition like the soulful singer will add diversity to the setup. “Blackface was the one that urged me to join the Plantashun Boys because the combination of himself and Tuface was not strong enough." "He felt that if a third party with their kind of flavour came into play, it would make the band better." "He was the one that made the decision and he was right. Shortly after I joined Plantashun Boys, Blackface advised me to move in with them at FESTAC." "He said that if I was going to be a part of them, I would have to stay with them so that we could all understand ourselves better and connect easily." "Right now, I am very close to Tuface and Blackface and we are like family." "If either of them has an event or wants a cameo appearance from me, I would always be there. I am going to do a song with Blackface very soon."

The Plantashun Boiz were once the biggest contemporary act in Nigeria. The trio of 2Face, Faze and Blackface were the subject of many a teenage girl’s fantasies with their list of hit songs such as ‘Don’t U Know’, ‘You And I’ and ‘Knock Me Off’ in the late 90s and early 00s. Following their breakup in the middle of the previous decade, their musical journeys took different routes with all three members going solo.

On Saturday August 1 at the IBB Square in Makurdi, Benue State, 2Face and Faze came together for a rare stage reunion at the Star Music Trek 2015 #MakurdiRocks concert. The concert, which was a homecoming of sorts for Benue State homeboy 2Face was packed to the rafters with thousands of expectant fans eager to set eyes on their hometown hero. After performing several of his hits, he surprised the crowd by inviting erstwhile bandmate Faze onstage and then the evening got really intense.

Popular Nigerian acts Psquare and Iyanya are heading to Abuja for the inauguration ceremony tomorrow May 29, 2015. The APC have picked the two acts to perform at the hading over ceremony.

"What ever you’re thinking think Bigger. Have a wonderful day beautiful people . Off to Abuja for the inauguration rehearsals and Performance.#NewGovernment #NewPsquare #Change" wrote Peter Okoye on his Instagram today before heading out to Abuja.

Triple MG boss Ubi Franklin shared a picture of him and Iyanya aboard a flight to Abuja. Singer Faze will also be performing at the ceremony too. Tomorrow, President Goodluck Jonathan will be handing over to President-Elect Buhari.

Faze took to Instagram to show off his invitation cards, captioning the photo: “Performing at the presidential inauguration let’s go. Smiles.” The former Plantashun Boyz singer has been out off the limelight for a while, and his invitation to perform is attributed to a courtesy visit he paid to All Progressive Congress leader Bola Tinubu’s residence before the election

Now Muzik recording artiste, EFA has released his latest offering titled ‘Fall In Love’ featuring the legendary Plantashun Boiz. The song, released on Valentine’s Day, February 14 2015, is EFA’s first song for the year. According to EFA, ‘the song is a celebration of young love and reminisces on the good times gone by wishing they would come back. The writing is intentionally tongue-in-cheek and real because real life is not Hollywood.’ Interestingly, it is one of the few times any artiste would manage to feature all three members of Plantashun Boiz in the nearly 20-year history of the group’s existence.
As expected, EFA is excited by that fact, saying: ‘In my few years of recording and performing, I have been blessed enough to be on songs with some great artistes. But I don’t think anything compares to working in the studio with the Plantashun Boiz. On top of that, knowing that, X-Appeal apart, I’m the only artiste who can claim to have worked with 2Face, Blackface and Faze as a group is totally awesome.’
The song was produced by Mr. Smith and mixed and mastered by Bigfoot....
