On what he thought about the Next Rated Category at the Headies 2015 which sparked up some controversies, this is what he had to say:


The next rated category is one that is highly rated among singers and being nominated alone is a big deal to me because past winners have done very well for themselves after the awards. However, winning does not guarantee your success or showmanship as a musician. Firstly, I am grateful to the organisers of the award for nominating me and I I’m extremely happy. Regarding the controversy, Reekado Banks had a good year in 2015 and he is a hard worker. He deserves everything he gets. Kiss Daniel also did very well last year; he had three hit songs last year and some of the songs are my favourite. Lil Kesh, my brother, also had back to back hits last year. It should be a big deal for anyone who was nominated, but it is only one person that would take home the prize. It is a voting category and I guess the fans chose their favourite.


Talking about his reaction to Etcetera’s negative article about his song with Asa?

 I don’t think the article was objective. I read the article and Etcetera is a freelance writer who does not speak the opinion of the people. He says what he feels. I have read some of his past articles and they are the same, he says what he thinks and feels is right and I feel everyone has a right to their opinion. Etcetera, being a musician, might feel that there are some certain elements missing in a song, but I see tweets from fans, I hear my song being played across radio stations in Africa and people tell me that they love the song and feel blessed by it. That is all that matters to me. I am not doing music for it to be anaylsed, I am doing music for people to feel blessed and inspired to do great things. I do music for my message to impact on people’s lives and not for people to say that I did not sing a particular note properly or spell a word right. That is not my goal. My goal is to make people happy and as long as people are being blessed by my songs, that is all that matters. 


On dating DJ CUPPY and Zahra Buhari:

Cuppy is my friend and I love her. There was one that I was with Zahra Buhari as well and people began to speculate. They are my people and that is it.

Korede Bello might be one of the coolest and soft hearted Nigerian singers out there, but it appears the Mavin singer has been working on his fighting skills. The singer shared a photo from a shoot he’s doing for Telecomms giant, Globacomms. We honestly don’t know why he’s rocking a boxing gear for the advert, but we know something interesting is brewing. He shared the photo and jokingly challenged Floyd Mayweather to a fight, a lot of his fans found it hilarious and thinks Korede won’t even last the first round.

Korede Bello, the singer whose hit single #Godwin# is the wave of the moment was spotted at an event surrounded by police officers.

Mavin Records stars, Korede Bello and Dija take on this new music from Ugandanian’s Artiste, Sheebah. Its titled, ‘Nipe Yote’ and it’s a remix the song they all 3 did together. It was produced by Clyde Pro and Altims of Mavins Records.

Multiple award winning French-Nigerian artist, ASA has kicked off rumours of a possible collaboration with The Mavins Dynasty after she payed a visit to Don jazzy Marvin studio.
Asa seems to be a fan of one of Nigeria’s most successful record label, Don Jazzy’s Mavins.

Don Jazzy took to Instagram and posted pictures a while ago of Asa at Mavin HQ with Don Jazzy, Korede Bello and many others present. Rumours have started to spread like wildfire as talks of a possible collaboration with Godwin Crooner, Korede Bello appears to have been drumeed up.

Mavin act, Korede Bello has once again performed at another Church service despite the view of some fans that a secular musician should not be allowed to mount a pulpit and sing in the church. He performed last weekend at Embrace International Assembly in Lagos. Korede first appearance as a performing act in a Church was at HICC (Harvesters International Christian Centre) where he sang his smash hitGodwin.

When he was criticized for his actions, the Young singer said that he was going to perform in a church again. In an earlier interview with NET, he said; “If you are the pastor of a church and you invite me to perform the song, Yes I will perform the song again. “It’s God’s song and whatever is happening now is predetermined, people are talking about God that’s all that matters”. “From the inception of Godwin, I knew that it wasn’t my song, I knew that anything that’s for God has the potential of growing bigger than you imagine. It’s not quite a gospel song, it’s an inspirational song, what I mean by it’s for God is the fact that it’s dedicated to God. I don’t see it as my song, I see it as people’s song and I see it as a song for God.”

Nigerian star Korede Bello who recently dropped the video to his smashing hit single ‘Godwin’ took to Twitter on Monday, June 22nd 2015 to reward fans. The give away, which started around 10:45pm on the social networking platform, twitter got massive engagement from his fans who are fondly called ‘Bellovers’. Korede centered the giveaway on his new Godwin video, putting up questions from scenes in the video.

It was clear that only those who have watched the video could answer the questions correctly. At the end of the giveaway, more than 20 fans were rewarded with a total sum of half a Million Naira. Speaking at the end of the giveaway, Korede Bello tweeted: This is just my own little way of appreciating you guys for the support and love you keep showing me.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest hits this year, Godwin‘s video is finally out! Mavin Records’ Korede Bello‘s inspirational track has a video that matches with the theme. Musical mentor, Mavin boss and the song’s producer Don Jazzy is also on the record, and is dancing away in the video. Bovi plays a pastor in it too, AY, Dr SID and Yaw also make cameos. In a move set to rock the corporate and entertainment world, Don Jazzy and the Mavins look set to ‘port’ from MTN to Nigerian-owned telecommunications giant, Globacom. The audacious move comes just months before the contract of Nigeria’s foremost producer is due for renewal with MTN. According to a source close to the negotiations, news of Don Jazzy’s availability came up just as Globacom was preparing offers to add Mavin’s rising musicians Di’Ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello to their fold of brand ambassadors.

The source added that not only is Glo eager to sign the young ones all at once, they are determined to break the bank by also offering a record-breaking deal to Don Jazzy. The Mavin Records CEO, who currently has just two months to run on his MTN deal, recently broke the internet with news of his signing with online retail giant, Konga. He is considered an overlord of social media influencers and played an active role in creating awareness for the APC in the just concluded elections. 

Although the other Mavin acts – Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, D’Prince – all have individual deals with MTN, any move to GLO by the head honcho would most likely result in a mass exodus which would hit the South African Telco hard. The younger younger trio were signed to Mavin Records a year ago and have already planted their feet firmly in the Nigerian music industry, with hit solo songs and hit collaborations.
