In the Nigerian entertainment scene 2016 has been very hot. Social media beef has been at an all-time high with several celebrities taking shots at each other. Omawumi, 33, in a recent interview spoke on a range of issues including social media beef that seems to be prevalent this year. In her usual candid and humorous manner, Omawumi said “It boils down to the reason behind it. The thing about it is that our work makes us to be out there. You can’t even make any move without people saying… (switches to pidgin) if somebody find my trouble and I decide to deck the person it’s valid. But because I be artiste I’m supposed to now swallow it, meanwhile the thing go dey pain me.” Omawumi went on to say if artistes have beef they should put it out there, but doesn’t like the idea of artistes throwing insults on social media. According to her artistes who have issues with themselves you should meet one on one and settle their differences.

The launch of Seyi Shay’s debut album “Seyi or Shay” was quite a fun event, held on Friday November 13th at the Grand Ballroom of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. The event was star-studded as several of Nigeria’s top celebrities stepped out to celebrate with Seyi Shay. Banky W, Asa, Sound Sultan, Waje, Omawumi, Iyanya, Ubi Franklin, Fade Ogunro, Cynthia Morgan, Chidinma, Cobhams Asuquo, Sika Osei, Illrhymz, Jesse Jagz, Bolanle Olukanni, Toke Makinwa, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Latasha Ngwube, Emmanuel Ikubese, Omalicha, Yvonne ‘Vixen’ Ekwere, Marcy Dolapo Oni, Lilian Afegbai, Ehiz, Eva, Boj, Niyola, Tunde Demuren and many more were spotted at the event.

 Seyi Shay wowed the audience with track after track off her new album while dressed in a gorgeous white skirt suit by the Okunoren Twins and then later changed into a white jumpsuit. The night was closed out by Banky W and Iyanya who joined Seyi Shay on stage for a performance of the remix of her hit song “Right Now”.

Omawumi is set to release a new song with legendary singer and Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo. The Nigerian songstress is well on her way to releasing a new album, and her next single which has been recorded features Kidjo. It is titled ‘Play na play’. ‘Play na play’ is a live production arranged by Cobhams Asuquo. The video was shot on location in New Jersey by George Steuber for Monstar Film and Produced by Bukola Aré for Of A Kind Creatives.

Popular Nigeria singer, Omawumi Megbele, known by her stage name Omawumi, on Sunday gave birth to a baby boy. Omawumi, 33, and her husband, Tosin Yusuf welcomed their second child in a US hospital. Mother and son are said to be doing great.

Since she got involved with Tosin Yusuf and had a baby with him, singer Omawumi has never shared a pic of him on social media. She shared some pics of her daughter, but they were usually pics from the back or side, you will hardly see her face. But after getting engaged yesterday, guess Omawumi is now comfortable to show the world her family. She posted the pic above and wrote;
