The launch of Seyi Shay’s debut album “Seyi or Shay” was quite a fun event, held on Friday November 13th at the Grand Ballroom of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. The event was star-studded as several of Nigeria’s top celebrities stepped out to celebrate with Seyi Shay. In a recent interview, Nigerian songstress Seyi Shay has explained how Sound Sultan and his wife have been her back bone ever since she returned to Nigeria in 2012. According to the singer, she never lived with her father because she was from a polygamous family, but lived with her mom all her life, who is now sadly late, and that is why she sees Sultan as the father she never had because he has been a father figure to her. She also praised Flytime boss, Cecil Hammonds for giving her a ladder to climb. Hear her; Sound Sultan is like my dad really, the dad I never had. He is my mentor, he’s also my song writer; he and his wife are like my mum and dad. It’s a relationship that’s indescribable, God just used him as a vessel to really expose me. I used to go round with Naija Ninjas and Radio tours and he kept introducing me as his protégé. Cecil also used to tell people to put me on their shows that I’m good. Between the two of them, I flourished a lot.

Top Nigerian celebrities besieged the Landmark Event centre in Oniru, Victoria Island as Sound Sultan's recently acquired basketball team, Lagos Islanders take on Union bank's team. In attendance at the game night that held on Sunday, June 14, 2015 included M.I, Agbani Darego, Caroline Danjuma, Iceprince, Sound Sultan, Bovi, Jerry Ogbodo of Swanky Signature amidst several others.

The celebrities cheered on the Islanders who won with 71 points ahead of the Union Bank team who scored 58 points in the game. Some of the celebrities that drawed attention to themselves include M.I and Iceprince who shot some hoops as well as actress and mother of three, Caroline Danjuma who stunned in her short denim outfit.

Nigerian Reggae King, Patoranking was a year older on the 27th of May. The artiste however had the celebration over the weekend where a lot of his colleagues like Tu Face, Dr Sid, Wizkid, Waje, HarrySong, Kcee, DJ Xclusive, Praiz, Sound Sultan, Iyanya, Olu Maintain, Rugged Man, Lil Kesh came to party with him.

Other celebrities who also attended were Shina Peller, TeeBillz, TY Mixx , Patrick Elis, E Kelly amongst others. At the event, Patoranking was formally introduced to friends, family and industry colleagues as SKYY Vodka’s first African Ambassador. Patoranking was treated to a special birthday performance by fellow artistes, Tu Face, Praiz & Harry Song, while others shared touching kind words about the celebrity crooner. Guests were kept entertained by a live band performance as well as a DJ set by DJ Consequence. In addition, they enjoyed endless food and drinks.
