Akon tops the list as Africa’s Most Bankable Urban Artist

In the September issue of Forbes Africa Magazine, Forbes Africa teams up with Channel O to bring us the Top 10 Most Bankable Urban Artists list. The list was calculated using a complicated formula which consisted of  brand value of artists who are active on the continent. Music sales, performance price tags, social media influence, music awards won and performances during 2012 were each given weightings of either 15-25%. The top 10 were also determined by business ventures and current endorsement deals.Africa magazine will be available from September 4th!FORBES AFRICA is the sixteenth local-language edition of the highly successful FORBES magazine.
