Queen B reigns supreme in Forbes Celebrity 100 list, which was released Monday. Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Katy Perry were also in the top 10 on the list that rates the cultural icons success and influence against one another.
Beyonce runs the show after a year that included 95 massive gigs, estimated to have raked in an average $2.4 million each. She also released her self-titled, career-defining fifth solo studio album without notice as an iTunes exclusive, with video content for each of its 14 tracks. The album's second single, "Drunk in Love," has gone platinum with more than 1 million copies sold.
Beyonce's husband, Jay Z — with whom she is currently on the massive 20-date On the Run tour — ranks at No. 6 on the list, making them the most powerful celebrity couple. His income is estimated at $60 million coming from his latest album, "Magna Carta … Holy Grail," live shows, his Roc Nation record label and management company, and other business ventures such as his 40/40 nightclubs and D’Ussé cognac. Dr. Dre came in at No. 3 on the list, boosted by the recent $3 billion sale of Beats by Dre to Apple. His earnings were beyond anyone else on the list in the past year, pegged at $620 million. As well, Dre's influence is seen in his overall influence on the music industry, including his mentoring of the new rap phenom Kendrick Lamar, who earned seven Grammy Award nominations this past year.
