The much awaited cinema release date for the highly anticipated movie ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ is finally here as it opens in cinemas today, Friday 1st of August.
The movie which has been released in cinemas in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand and has performed tremendously well, generating N280 million is expected to do more in the Nigerian market, as the producer, director and writer are all Nigerians. According to an official of Bigsam Media “we are really happy that ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ is finally in cinemas today and we wish every Nigerian a happy viewing.”
The movie features BAFTA award winner and Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, BAFTA award winner Thandie Newton, Genevieve Nnaji, O.C. Ukeje, Zack orji and Onyeka Onwenu.
