Mikel Arrives Eagles Camp With Protective Gloves(EBOLA)

Chelsea FC midfielder John Mikel Obi arrived for lunch at the Super Eagles camp, wearing protective gloves against the ebola virus. The 27-year-old was among 8 players to join Nigeria training camp on Tuesday for this weekend’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers against Congo.
About 17 players have arrived the African champions’ camp, with the team set for a trip to Cape Town where they face South Africa immediately after Saturday’s match in Calabar. Mikel jokingly told temporary Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi: Coach I have up to four hand gloves and if you don’t mind, I can hand one pair to you.”
Other arrivals on Tuesday include; Ogenyi Onazi, Kenneth Omeruo, Juwon Oshaniwa, Ahmed Musa, Sone Aluko, Efe Ambrose, and stand-in skipper AUstin Ejide. Godfrey Obaobona, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Gbolahan Salami, Chigozie Agbim, Kunle Odenlami, Solomon Osdunna, Nosa Igiebor, Uche Nwofor and Ramonz Azeez are the earlier arrivals at the Eagles camp.
Meanwhile Keshi has called up El-Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper David Obiazor in place of Vincent Enyeama, who has withdrawn “to attend to pressing family issues”. “We have been monitoring the Nigerian league and we see that the keeper of El-Kanemi is a talent, that is why we want to give him a trial,” said Keshi. “We will see how it turns out when he arrives camp.” Nigeria will also play Sudan in Group A of the Afcon qualifiers.
