Davido was a big winner at the 2014 NEA Awards which held last night in New York, USA. The 'Aye' singer walked home with the 'Artiste Of The Year' award, while also clinching jointly clinching the 'Best Collaboration' gong with singer Runtown. Tiwa Savage was also in the spotlight, she got two gongs as the Pop/R&B Artist, and the female Artiste Of The Year.
The event which was hosted by comedian Bovi and comic actress, Funke Akindele, also had many winners receiving various awards for their hard work, with Oritse Femi getting fair reward as the Indigenous rapper Olamide celebrated for his musical compilation, as his last album, Baddest Boy Ever Liveth, which was released in 2013 was voted the Best Album. of the Year, while all of Patoranking's good work within the last year made him receive the Best New Act award.
There were performances from Patoranking, Runtown , Oritsefemi , Orezi and many more which thrilled the guests. For the young stunners, Ayo Jay, was sounded out as the Most Promising Act to Watch, Starboy singer, L.A.X is the Diaspora Artist of the Year, and Ghana's Shatta Wale won the Non-Nigerian African Artist of the Year. Away from music, the eccentric Derenle Edun put his charm to good use, grabbing the Entertainment Personality Of The Year, Radio Personality award was scooped by Yaw, and World DJ was won by DJ Spinall.See winners and photos below:
