The long awaited Africa Movie Academy Award (AMMA) has come and gone and it wasn't without its glitz and thrills. The event was hosted by Nigeria's Segun Arinze, Ghana's Naa Ashaokor and Nigerian-British born Lloyd Nathaniel. The prestigious award ceremony was graced by lots of celebrities including Joselyn Dumas, Lancelot Imaseun, Rita Dominic, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Ibinabo Fiberisima, Richard Mofe Damijo and a host of others.
The floor was opened by the melodious voice of the award winning artist Timi Dakolo who dedicated his song to the late veteran director Amaka Igwe, other musical performances which had the guests humming and rocking included Bez, J Martins, and Ghana's Duo 4*4. The guests were also cracked up by comedian Funny Bone and Buchi, who had the audience in stitches all evening long. Veteran Nollywood actor Bob Manuel Udokwo was also presented with the 'Special Jury Prize' and Nigerian movie ' The Horizon' was awarded 'Special Jury Prize foe Short Film'. The event also had all the nominees and award presenters using the medium to campaign for our missing girls. The most thrilling part of the ceremony was the battle for the trophies. With each category having the best in the game, it was difficult to guess the winners.
