Tess Christian has not smiled for 40 years because she is maintaining a straight face which she said is an effective way to keep her youthful looks.
“I don’t have wrinkles because I have trained myself to control my facial muscles. Everyone asks if I’ve had Botox, but I haven’t, and I know that it’s thanks to the fact I haven’t laughed or smiled since I was a teenager. My dedication has paid off, I don’t have a single line on my face,” the 50-year-old mother of one told Daily Mail.
Tess has disciplined herself not to smile or laugh in any situation. Even on a girls’ Friday night out at a local restaurant with friends, with champagne flowing and conversation getting more wild, peals of laughter hang over their table but Tess remains the odd one. Even in the memorable times of her life, Tess was still devoid of smile and laughter. Tess and her ex-husband Nigel married in February 1993, and even on her wedding day, she did not smile. “Of course, the wedding photographer was urging me to smile for the pictures, but I refuse. It just wasn’t me,” she said.
