The Nigeria Sand Eagles yesterday, Sunday, April 19 won bronze at the 2015 CAF Beach Soccer Championship.
Adamu Ejor’s men walloped their counterparts from Ivory Coast 9-1 in the third place match played at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex, Roche Caiman on Sunday afternoon.
A hat-trick from Abu Azeez, brace each from Emeka Ogbonna and Olawale Isiaka and a goal each from Bartholomew Igbenegbu and Lokosa Junior Sewanu were all the Supersand Eagles needed to win the Losers final.
The win make up Nigeria's failure to qualify for the upcoming Beach Soccer World Cup as they failed to reach the final of the CAF Beach Soccer Championship. Madagascar meanwhile emerged champions after beating Senegal in the final.
