Former Everton and Manchester United manager, David Moyes will be attending the testimonial of former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo. Yobo confirmed this at a press conference to formally announce his retirement from football which held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday, March 8.The former defender played for Everton between July 2002 and August 2010. He was the first signing of Moyes at Everton and became a regular under the manager.
"My former manager David Moyes has said he'll come. I was his first signing and I'm honoured he has agreed,"

Yobo is quoted to say by ace sports journalist, Colin Udoh. The testimonial is set to hold on Wednesday, May, 25 and the likes of Samuel Eto'o and Yaya Toure are also expected at the event. The big event is tagged 'The Joseph Yobo Centenary Game' the encounter is being put together by the Joseph Yobo Foundation in partnership with the Rivers State Government. Yobo made his senior international debut for Nigeria against Zambia in a 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifier on 24 March 2001. He has been capped 100 times and represented the Super Eagles at three FIFA World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations tournaments before he retired in 2014. In his club career, Yobo played for Standard Liege, Marseille, Everton Fernabache and Norwich.Present at his press conference were a host of former Super Eagles stars and coaches. Taribo West, Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Ifeanyi Udeze, Pete Rufai, Christian Chukwu, Austin Eguaveon and Amodu Shaibu were all at the press conferenece.
