Armed robbers invaded the Jos home of Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi making away with a Toyota Highlander and a huge among of money.
According to Punch, the robbers also brutally beat up the father of the former Lazio midfielder.
The midfielder revealed that the robbers gained entrance into the house by pretending to be courier men who have come to deliver a letter to his father.
“Those robbers came, pretending they were there to deliver a letter to my dad at about 1.40pm on Monday. But as soon as he collected their fake letter and asked where it was coming from they swooped on him, tied his hands, beat him up, inflicting machete cuts on him in the process,” the midfielder told Punch. According to Onazi, the armed robbers also told his father that he (the midfielder) will be the next target when they attack the house again. “Those guys took their time to take some valuable materials including car and some cash but I am thankful to God they didn’t do more than that,” the midfielder added.
