Tanzanian act, Nasibu Abdul Juma, popularly known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz has been named as by MTV as the winner of the 2015 MTV EMAs Best African Act. Scores of music fans visited mtvema.com to vote for Diamond Platnumz, who beat incredible competition from AKA, Yemi Alade, Davido, and DJ Arafat. Diamond Platnumz will now go up against the winning act from India to be named Best Africa/India Act – and you can help him win. Voting is now open on mtvema.com until 24 October at 10:59pm. Diamond Platnumz follows in the footsteps of previous Best African Act winners Sauti Sol (2014), LCNVL (2013), D’Banj (2012 & 2007), Freshlyground (2006) and 2Face (2005).

The 2015 edition of the prestigious African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) held in Dallas Texas, U.S.A over the weekend and had in attendance top entertainers from across Africa. The colourful event was hosted by ace comedian, Basketmouth and Kansiime, with the night’s biggest winner being Diamond Platnumz.

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz and his fiancee Zari Hassan have finally revealed the face of their daughter, Tiffah at a 40th day celebration to celebrate her birth. The couple held an intimate celebration of Tiffah’s 40th day on September 20th. See pictures below.

One of Africa’s biggest music making labels, Made Men Music Group, has released the first official tracklist of the album “Applaudise”, by her flagship pop star Iyanya. “Applaudise” is named after the core themes of the album, which shows Iyanya, projecting celebration, happiness, and all the good feelings that come with being in a state of joy. Iyanya, who has lyrical depth and versatility, takes his fans through a happy ride, as he serenadeson this LP. A 20-track masterpiece from one of the most prolific superstars, “Applaudise” seeks to connect with every listener by its impressive genre-distribution, and variation of sounds. This album contains core African sounds, with creative fusions and twists to bring to you, the best of Highlife, Dancehall, Soukous, Afrobeat, Pop, R&B and many more.

The album contains four previously released hit singles, and 16 new songs to give listeners enough of Iyanya’s magic. A number of the best entertainers on the African continent collaborated on this project, bringing in their mastery and top-notch talent to make the album one of the best bodies of work, to be released in 2015. Bankyw, Patoranking, Tekno, Selebobo Olamide, Lil Kesh, Victoria Kimani, Harrysong,kcee, Seyi Shay, Don Jazzy,Mc Galaxy, Efya and sarkodie from Ghana Diamond platinumz from tanzania, Mystro and Dammykrane are on this album. Production of this project was handled by a select group of music makers and engineers which include MMMG in-house producers DJ Coublon,the proven Tee-Y Mix, Spellz, Black Jerzy, Selebobo,Mystro Princeton, Wizzy Pro, and London Boys, Mr Chido. “Applaudise” will be released on September 19, 2015, to digital and local stores.

The Afro-pop / highlife group, Bracket, which comprises of Vast and smash are set to drop a new body of work titled “Alive”. The new album is a 18-track compilation, and contains an array of features and collaborations from a number of star artistes. Timaya, Phyno, Tekno, Flavour, DJ Arafat, Cynthia Morgan, Diamond and of course Tiwa Savage are all on the album. Production for the body of work comes from a posse of producers such as, Jaystunts, Masterkraft, Selebobo, Tekno, Mecca E and Freelance.
