Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike has spoken out about the affirmation of the 5-year jail termAGN president, Ibinabo Fiberesima was sentenced to following her 2006 manslaughter case. Emeka who has been at loggerheads with Ibinabo over the presidency of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, told Olisa TV that he had nothing to do with the actor’s sentence, neither is he happy about it. “I should not be assumed to be happy with the present travail of Ibinabo Fiberesima,” Emeka Ike said. He continued, “We are in court on the matter of our guild, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, not on the issue of death or motor accident. I don’t wish jail for her.”

He however could help but also speak about their existing feud. “Ibinabo has been impersonating to be the president. I am the president. I only want her to vacate the office. If she has a case and jailed for it, it has nothing to do with me,” the actor said. Ibinabo Fiberesima on Friday failed in her bid to have a 5-year jail sentence for a 2006 manslaughter upturned. In a judgement delivered by Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur, Ibinabo was found guilty of reckless driving which led to the death of a Lagos doctor, Suraj Giwa in 2006.

Popular Nollywood actor and producer, Emeka Ike, has accused Rev. Chris Okotie of Household of God Church, as the one behind the ongoing crisis in his marriage.Emeka Ike claimed that, Pastor Okotie, has been encouraging his wife Suzanne to pursue with the divorce case. To make matter worse, Pastor Okotie even gave Suzanne N500, 000 to hire a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to file for the case, he added. Yes, Pastor Chris Okotie just absolved (sic) my wife into his church without making any effort to get in touch with me. If, as a pastor, your church member is having issues with her husband, and you fail to do anything to resolve it, what kind of pastor are you? When I called him, he refused to pick my call. He also failed to react to a text message I sent to him. Is that a man of God? Even, if you have a police case, they will make an effort to hear from you before taking a position, not to talk of the church. I want the whole world to know because there is a lot of misinformation out there. The lawyer which Okotie hired for my wife is also frustrating every attempt I make to resolve the matter peacefully.”

However, Pastor Okotie media consultant, said Emeka Ike’s allegations were baseless: There is nothing to what he is saying. It is total rubbish. What is he saying? Why will the pastor be interested in his domestic issue? Will he say he wants to marry the woman? What kind of man will be saying that kind of things on the Internet? Why is it that each time any of them has any issue they always want to bring Okotie into it? Responding to the outburst will only make the guy feel important. The pastor can’t dignify him with any.

Former Leader of Actors Guild, Ibinabo fiberisima and Emeka Ike are at each others throat again – as usual. This time its over the fresh divorce mess that Actor, Emeka Ike seems to be wallowing in. The actor repeatedly insisted today in an interview that rumours and unpalatable tales currently trailing his marriage and place of habitat are ‘distractions’ from Fiberesima, who is currently in the United Kingdom on vacation. ‘Ibinabo will upload her distraction on the internet and you will quickly rush to celebrate it. Did you speak with her?(referring to his wife) Did she tell you that? This rumour (eviction rumour) is over two years old now on the net. No thanks to Ibinabo. ‘Please speak to her (referring to his wife) to hear if that’s what she has to say. Who’s reporting? Who’s asked? If she never came to you please treat all that as trash and wait till she comes to you, then you can ask my side of her own story, not these Ibinabo’s distractions. Please I am not a party to this, not now that she has legal issues all over her,’ he concluded.

But Ibinabo couldn’t turn down the chance of getting back at him, and has retorted saying; ‘Haa, that boy has gone mad. Me Ke? What is my business with him?’ Speaking further, the actress and beauty queen said, ‘I thought he lives in a hotel. He must definitely be on very cheap drugs. I don’t know why he keeps referring to me. The case is between him and the Board of Trustees. He called me to help him push them over it, then he went to the press to curse me over it. He must be truly demented.’ Fiberesima and Ike have been at war of words over the last 12-months in a bid to determine who leads the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.

About two weeks ago, report had surfaced that Emma, the wife of Emeka Ike, a popular Nollywood actor, had filed for divorce. Emma had asked the Lagos Island customary court to dissolve their 12-year-old marriage, saying she could no longer bear being tortured. At the hearing on Wednesday, July 22, the actor failed to show up. According to his counsel, Abdul’Hakeem Labi-Lawal, Emeka was not in court because he was ill. .Labi-Lawal begged the court to give Emeka 6 months to see if there was a possibility of settlement between the couple adding that the actor was still in love with his wife.

Emma however said 6 months was too long adding that Emeka had 2 years to reconcile with her but he didn’t. In his ruling, the court’s President, Chief Awos Awosola, said the court could only grant two weeks. “I am expecting Emeka Ike in this court if he really wants settlement,” he added.
The matter was adjourned till August 12 for further hearing.

Speaking after the court rose, Emma said she was not interested in the marriage anymore, wondering why her husband wanted reconciliation now, after 2 years she left her matrimonial home.“If I was still with him, I may not survive. I was 19-year old when I met him and he was the one who deflowered me. I see no reason I shouldn’t be treated with utmost respect. Due to physical torture, my health has been affected. There was even a time I thought I had breast cancer because I felt a lump on one part of my breast,” she said.

The marriage produced four children between ages 4 and 13. According to the wife, Emeka Ike took her children away from her and has turned them against her.Emma said in tears: “Even when he didn’t allow me access to see our children, I spoke with them on several occasions but now, he doesn’t allow me anymore. My children are now against me. “I almost went mad when my first son told me on phone that if I truly loved them, I wouldn’t have abandoned them. Even my seven-year-old son whose day wouldn’t be complete without seeing me said he doesn’t love me. I love my children. I miss my children. I never abandoned them. I am in pain. They don’t have any other mother. I really need my children. I am a good woman; I endured so many things as his wife.”

Emeka Ike has refuted reports that his wife filed for divorce. Reports said that the actor’s wife, Suzanne filed for divorce after 13 years of living with the actor citing battery and assault. Describing the rumour as unfounded, he blamed it on those who are envious of his marriage. According to him, “As I’m talking to you now, I have not received any divorce notice. There is nothing like that happened. I have not received any letter from anybody. I am a Christian, we don’t divorce.”

Noting that there are challenges in every marriage, Emeka Ike wonders why people should be more concerned about pedaling falsehood without considering the aftermath of their action. On his alleged habit of battering his wife at the slightest provocation, Emeka Ike denied the allegation, saying that he has lived with her for 13 years. “If I am a wife beater, she wouldn’t have lived with me for this long. She spent the first year, second year and so on, and she did not label me as a wife beater. Why is she doing so now?,”the actor queried. Emeka Ike’s wife, Emma is said to have filed for divorce following tales of domestic violence. The marriage is blessed with loving four kids.

Reports claim Nollywood actor Emeka Ike and his wife of 12 years Emma has filed for divorce after constant beating thanks to her husband. According to reports, Emma told a customary court on Tuesday, “It was when my husband beat me mercilessly I believed that people truly saw stars whenever they were unconscious. It was my brother who took me to the hospital where I spent two months. There was also a day I was feeding our last child with tea, my husband, out of anger took the tea and poured it on my head.”
