Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ Sets Vevo Record for Most Views in 24 Hours

Within 24 hours of its release, the music video racked up 19.6 million views, breaking the record previously set by Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" (which had 19.3 million views). We have to point out, though, that this is a Vevo record, and not a YouTube record, and that the record holder for most views in the first 24 hours likely belongs to the comedic Korean singer Psy and his song with Snoop Dogg, "Gentleman."

Sunday night, Nicki Minaj dropped a snippet of her new single “Anaconda” music video on her Instagram account. Anaconda made its official debut on iTunes not to mention, it’s trending on twitter with the hastag #AnacondaOnITunes. Moreover, the highly-anticipated track was produced by Polow Da Don and Da Internz, sampling Sir Miz-a-Lot’s 1992 “Baby Got Back.” The 15 second ‘Anaconda’ teaser shot in Los Angeles and directed by Colin Tilley gives glimpses of Minaj and other women showing off their derriere. There’s also a scene with Minaj by herself booty-bouncing on a rain forest set. But you can see for yourself in the video above.The track serves from Minaj’s latest album “The Pink Print.

The rapper confirmed new track 'Anaconda' will be available on iTunes from July 28, while also unveiling the accompanying artwork.The cover sees the star crouched down in a pink sports top and g-string, while wearing blue hi-top trainers. 'Anaconda' serves as the follow-up to Minaj's recent track 'Pills N' Potions', which was released earlier this year. The star is expected to release her third studio album, titled The Pink Print, later this year.Nicki Minaj took social media by storm this morning (July 24) when she posted the artwork for her upcoming single, "Anaconda."
