In the months and days leading to the election, a lot of things happened. There were prophecies, insults were thrown around and the election was even postponed from the original date, February 14th to March 28. Nigerian celebrities were not left out of the drama. A number of them were pitching tent with their favourite candidates. They participated in the political campaigns. While some were in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which had Muhammadu Buahri as its candidate, others were for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) whose flag bearer was incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan. Some others were just sitting on the fence.
Yoruba Movie Star, Toyin Aimakhu said "I can die for PDP' and many Nigerians mocked her, well read her conceding speech below: I know quiet a number of you have been waiting for this, so here it is. To start with, I love you all and if you insult me I will jegalise you.. a lot of you have been arsenal fans for a very long time and even without many victories, you still support them, so i urge you all to view this as one of those matches, people loose, they get hurt and eventually get over it and move on... I congratulate APC and I believe in one Nigeria..... despite your abuses and insults (orubebeism) pls stay out of trouble and violence no politician is worth our blood... love you all..
