The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu,Wednesday, resigned as chairman of the party following pressure from party leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party.
In a letter he wrote to the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Muazu, noted that due to the abysmal performance of the party during the March 28 Presidential election, it became imperative for him to go and for peace to reign in the PDP.In the letter, he asked Secondus to step in as acting National Chairman in line with the party’s constitution.
As at the time of this report, the leadership of the party is holding a National Working Committee, NWC meeting on the former chairman’s resignation.
