On Tuesday, the 31 year-old Togo international, posted a lengthy message on his facebook page, giving an insight into the cause of what he described in March as his ‘dark moments.’ A while back, a story did the rounds claiming that the former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs forward believed that his mother and other relatives are using ‘juju’, a form of witchcraft, against him to end his career prematurely. Reports also circulated that Adebayor fell out with his mother and kicked her out of one of his houses, while his sister has said that the striker won’t respond to calls from the family. Then there was the story from Adebayor’s brother Kola, a truck driver living in Germany, who claimed the footballer had been brainwashed by Islamic spiritual leaders. In his facebook post this week, Adebayor accused his family of lying, stealing mobile phone, and generally being disgusting people. Adebayor's complicated family life led to Spurs giving him time off. After returning to London he almost left the club on transfer deadline day in January to join West Ham. Now Lucia Adebayor has hit back on facebook herself, as she posted a comment which has been unearthed on social media.See what she wrote:

“Where is the car you got for mum… you took it back… The house you claim you bought for sister are all lies.. The phones Rotimi stole are all lies… Money is not everything oooo… we the family do not need you again just be on your own so we do the same… de fact you have it today doesn’t guarantee your tomorrow… May Allah forgive you … you sent your little nephews packing from your house at 12am… The Alphas and Mallams have done great harm to your life. You need God… Only God can save your soul
