At an event organised in Lagos in honour of its new brand ambassadors tagged-The Icon, Airtel unveiled the much talked about, as they put it, “smart icons.”
Communication Week reports that the top Nigerian celebrities that made the list include TuFace Idibia, Phyno, Patoranking, IK Osakioduwa aka wild child of Rhythm 93.7.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya said the brand ambassadors-smart icons have become a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry in Nigeria.
Ogunsanya said “
We have carefully selected ambassadors who embody the values, character and overall image inherent to the Airtel brand, therefore making them a perfect fit for further endearing Airtel to millions of Nigerians whilst strengthening the relationship we have with our customers.”
He said that the careful selection of these celebrities as brand ambassadors, is a deliberate effort by Airtel to inspire Nigerian youth to pursue their dreams.
Adding that Airtel has been in the fore-front of supporting creativity and entertainment industry.
