First Lady, Aisha Buhari has warned citizens of the country not to bribe anyone in order to see her or President Muhammadu Buhari. Mrs Buhari explained how staff in the former administration were rumoured to have charged hefty sums in order to arrange a meeting with the President or First Lady. The First Lady made the revelation on Saturday, June 13, 2015, while speaking at a 'Thank You' dinner she organized in honour of All Progressives Congress (APC) women and youth at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. “I will like to inform you that in the past regime, whether it is true or false, only God knows, some people were going round and parading themselves as personal assistants. If you wanted to see the President’s wife, you will pay $30,000 or $50,000 and if you are seeing the President, you will pay all that you have saved in your lifetime,” Mrs Buhari said. “This will not happen in our regime. Whoever asks you to give a single penny in the name of coming to see the President or his wife is not our (member of) staff. He is not an APC member, it is a lie. Don’t be deceived,” she added.

Mrs Buhari also warned those who would be appointed as her husband’s officials to beware of their conduct around him so as not to jeopardize his administration.
